How to check a newly installed DNS server

After having installed a bind9 server on a Linux machine:
- named-checkconf checks syntax of configuration files
- ZoneCheck program performs various tests on a given domain. An on-line version is available.
- DNSCheck, available on RIPE NCC website
- to test propagation: https://www.whatsmydns.net/, http://viewdns.info/
